Slice the apples into rounds.

Arrange them in a large saucepan.

Add the water, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Cook until the apples are tender.

Soak the dates in hot water for about 10 minutes to soften.

Remove the pits and blend the dates with the milk until the mixture is as smooth as possible.

Chop the walnuts using a knife.

Stack 3 slices of apple on top of each other, spreading the date sauce between the layers and on top. Repeat to make two portions.

Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top before serving.
