For the Burger Patties (5 servings)

  • 500g lean ground beef

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs (30g)

  • 1 teaspoon vinegar (apple or rice)

  • 2 teaspoons cumin

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

For Burger Assembly (5 servings)

  • 5 lettuce leaves

  • 5 tomato slices

  • 5 slices of burger cheese

For the Caramelized Onions (5 servings)

  • 2 tablespoons Livvy olive oil (20g)

  • 3 red onions

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey (25g)

Oopsie Bread (5 servings, makes 10 pieces)

  1. Combine all patty ingredients and knead well.

  2. Let the mixture rest in the fridge for about 1 hour to absorb the flavors.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the oopsie bread. Shape the batter according to the size of your patties and bake.

  4. For the caramelized onions, thinly slice the red onions and sauté them in olive oil until soft.

  5. Add the vinegar and stir briefly.

  6. Let the onions cool slightly, then mix in the honey.

  7. Divide the rested meat mixture into 5 equal portions, shape into burger patties, and cook in a lightly oiled non-stick pan.

  8. Use one piece of oopsie bread as the base.

  9. Assemble the burger in this order: oopsie bread, lettuce, tomato, patty, cheese, caramelized onion, and finish with another oopsie bread.
